Update: 1/11/2018 How can I get SMS texts on Moto Z2 Force?It turned out that Moto Z2 Force Oreo version has two Messages apps. The default one has the green icon supposedly built by Motorola. The other one with blue icon is built by Google. When I try to sign up Lyft and Uber, they both claimed to sent text messages to verify. None of them came. It turned out that the default green icon Messages app does not support SMS. You can see by pushing the icon longer to reveal Info. If you click Info, then App Info shows SMS app "No"! On the other hand the blue Google version of Messages has SMS app "Yes". After switching the default to the blue icon version of Messages, I was able to get the code sent by the vendors. Here is how to change. Settings → Apps & notification → Advanced → Default apps → SMS app. Click it will show two Messages app. You select the blue version of Messages app. |
